The Last Squatter Settlement in Ap Lei Chau

At least, I think it is.
Ap Lei Chau is an island just south of the main island of Hong Kong, and was included in the original British cessation in 1841. However, it never had a very large population until the postwar period, and even then, who wanted to live here? Aside from a few shipyards and the typhoon shelter for the Boat People, there wasn't much in the way of habitation.

However, if you look at this Lands Department aerial photo from 1963, someone had a small farm at the mouth of the stream leading down to the beach. That beach and bay are now the Ap Lei Chau Industrial Estate. I wondered, was anything left? Enjoy the video as I poke around the ruins of the last squatter hamlet!
